Chase Marshall is the new fire management officer (FMO) for the Superior National Forest. Prior to arriving in Minnesota, he was FMO for six years at the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire, Maine.
Chase graduated from North Dakota State University with degrees in Zoology and Range Management. A North Dakota native, he began his career there in 1995 with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service as a supervisory range technician. By 2001, he worked his way to an FMO position and transferred to Fairbanks in 2007. There he worked in the Arctic, Yukon Flats and Kanuti National Wildlife Refuges in northern Alaska.
During his 21-years in fire Chase has worked on more than 350 incidents. His office is located at the Minnesota Interagency Fire Center (MIFC). Chase enjoys being outdoors and working in an interagency environment. He and wife, Sarah, have an 11-year-old daughter, Kenady.
