Aichele Road Fire – FINAL UPDATE

The Aichele (Ike – lee) Road Fire, located 15 miles southwest of Baudette, Minnesota, along the Aichele Forest Road, was detected at about 11:00 a.m., June 5, 2021, burning in lowland grass, conifer and timber. Minnesota DNR and volunteer fire departments from Baudette and Williams responded. Several aircraft made water drops on the fire throughout the afternoon and evening on June 5 to slow the spread. MNICS Incident Management Team A assumed command of the fire at 8:00 a.m. on June 6, 2021. The fire is now 100 percent contained. The Incident Command Team transitioned command back to the local unit on June 10, 2021.

June 9, 2021 Final Update – The Incident Command Team will transition command back to the local unit this morning. Firefighters will patrol and grid the fire area today and mop up any remaining hot spots. The fire is currently 100% contained, which means that the perimeter has been secured but the fire has not been called controlled or out yet. The status of the fire will be reassessed on a regular basis. This is the final fire update.
