The Daniels fire is located 30 miles north of Grand Marais, Minnesota off the Gunflint Trail. Crews made good progress yesterday on the 10-acre fire and reported 100% containment this morning, September 24.
Minnesota DNR fire personnel will be on site today continuing mop up. The public is asked to avoid the Clearwater Road/Daniels Lake Trail if possible for their own safety and the safety of wildland firefighters working in the area.
